Our doctors are all locally trained to the highest standard, with post-graduate General Practice qualifications. We happily assist in all aspects of family medicine.

We also have special expertise in women’s and men’s health, child health, dermatology and skin cancer, antenatal care, travel advice, internal medicine, sports injuries and minor surgery.

Experienced and friendly in-house physiotherapists and a podiatrist complement the services offered by our medical team.

 

The practice is supported by registered nurses and friendly, efficient administrative staff.

Dr Moir combines a strong academic background with a warm, friendly approach. After graduating from Monash Medical Centre with Honours in 1997, Paula received post-graduate training in General Practice and Women's Health, achieving Fellowship of the RACGP and the Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

 

Paula is interested in all area's of Women's Health, she also enjoys and is a accredited pregnancy shared-care  provider affiliated with The Royal Women's Hospital, Sandringham Hospital and Monash Health.  

 

Paula offers high quality and attentive care in all areas of General Practice.

Dr Yangyang Liu

 

MBBS FRACGP

CONSULTS MON, WEDS DAY & THURS EVENING & OCCASIONAL SATURDAY.

Dr Yangyang completed his medical school at the University of Tasmania. He underwent postgraduate training in multiple hospitals in Tasmania and Victoria.

 

He developed a special interest in acupuncture. To further develop his acupuncture skills he completed general practice training and postgraduate medical acupuncture training for GPs provided by the Australian Medical Acupuncture College (AMAC). During the training, his scope of acupuncture practice extended to various clinically difficult conditions, including pregnancy-related head aches, eustachian tube dysfunction and cluster headaches.

Dr. Martin Williams

MBBS FRACGP DRANZCOG

Martin graduated from the University of Melbourne with First Class Honours, before gaining post-graduate experience and training in paediatrics, dermatology and skin cancer, general surgery, emergency medicine and internal medicine, along with twelve months in obstetrics and gynaecology. He went on to become a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, placing second in Victoria in the College examinations. Prior to coming to PEMC, Martin consulted in large medical centres in Hampton and Elwood, teaching trainee specialist GPs and medical students. He also delivered over 500 babies at Sandringham Hospital, where he served as Head of GP Obstetrics.

 

As of 2013, Martin is our Practice Principal.  Here he offers all aspects of General Practice health care, with particular expertise in paediatrics, dermatology, women's health (including shared antenatal care), mental health, internal medicine, emergencies, trauma and minor surgery. He also has interests in insertion of contraceptive implants and IUD's, medical family planning and a special interest in skin cancer care, including dermatoscopic mole checks, mole removals, skin biopsies and skin cancer treatment by both medical and surgical means. Martin is married to Emina, who is Co-Director and runs nursing services at PEMC. Both of their kids also work at the clinic - truly a family affair!

Dr Carrie Kausman

Carrie completed her medical Degree at Monash University in 1997 and then spent several years in the hospital system working in various fields including paediatrics, psychiatry and obstetrics. She has completed her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Carrie then specialised in General Practice in 2003 and has worked in the Eastern and Bayside suburbs for over 15 years.

Carrie is interested in all aspects of General Practice, particularly women's and children's health and the family as a whole, from pre-conception counselling, breastfeeding and infant health to adolescence. She is also interested in Mental Health and Sexual Health and is able to insert and remove implanon.

Dr Tina Sutton

CONSULTS MON, TUES & WEDS.

After completing her Honours year in Psychology at Monash University, Tina attended medical school at Flinders University in South Australia. She did her intern year in Adelaide, and then returned home to Melbourne in 2001. She spent a few extra years working in public hospitals and being an investigator for drug company trials and then decided general practice was for her.

Tina is interested in all areas of general practice. She has particular interests in paediatrics, food allergies, women's health, sexual health, breastfeeding, menopause, mental health and preventative medicine. Tina is able to insert and remove implanon, remove IUDs and excise small skin lesions. She requests that consultations with her regarding menopause are booked as long appointments.

Emily Completed Medicine at Monash University in 2000. She has worked in General Practice for over 10 years.

 

Emily has experience in all aspects of General Practice and has done further training in Women's Health, Family Planning, Paediatrics, Mental Health and Preventative Medicine.

Dr David Klein

CONSULTS TUES, WED, FRI & OCCASIONAL SATURDAY.

David graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1974. He worked in general practice from his own rooms in Albert Park from 1982 to 1994, before moving to Prahran East Medical Centre as practice principal, maintaining this role through to 2012.

David has particular interest and training in preventative medicine, complementary medicine and dermatology.

Rebecca Abelmann

CONSULTS WEDNESDAYS.

Rebecca started her physiotherapy journey on the other side of the couch – as an injured dancer. After seeing the impact that physiotherapy can have on an individual’s quality of life, she knew this was what she wanted to do. Bec graduated from the Doctor of Physiotherapy program at Melbourne University in 2018. 


Bec is passionate about Clinical Pilates and the role it plays in managing chronic conditions. She has experience treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions including sporting injuries, low back pain and neck pain. Rebecca enjoys working with people and helping them get back to the activities they love.

Emina brings vast and varied nursing experience from some of Melbourne's major hospitals to general practice. Her expertise in wound management, immunisation, therapeutic ultrasound and complex care co-ordination combines with a lovely, caring manner. She also offers multilingual skills, being fluent in Greek, Albanian and Macedonian.

Leilani is a Nurse Immuniser with over 18 years experience in community and aged care nursing.  She is passionate in providing holistic care to patients of all age groups, with a keen interest in immunisations, wound care and preventative health management.

Jennifer Grant

Registered Nurse, Div 1

Jennie trained in New Zealand and has worked for the past 15 years at The Alfred and in General Practice. She has completed a postgraduate certificate In wound management through Monash University and a Diploma in health science at Torrens University. She has a keen interest in prevention, wound management and alternative health, and makes her own homemade skin products.
